Geographic Relationship Between Iran and Iraq

Iraq and Iran are neighboring Middle Eastern countries. Iran is a country similar in size to Alaska, however slightly larger. It borders a number of other countries such as Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan. Iran also borders the Caspian Sea to the north and the Persian Gulf to the south. Iraq shares borders with Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Syria. It has a small coastline along the Persian Gulf.

The border that both countries share is full of rugged mountainous terrain. Iran and Iraq both have desert with Iran having small plains along both coasts and Iraq having large desert plains. Iraq also consists of low elevation marshes along its southern borders. The Tigris and Euphrates rivers run through the center of Iraq. The climate of Iran is very arid but also subtropical near the Caspian coast. Most of Iraq has desert climate, having hot summers and mild winters. The mountainous regions of the country have mild summers and very cold winters, however.

The major natural resources of Iran include petroleum, natural gas, coal, chromium, copper, iron ore, lead, manganese, zinc and sulfur. The major natural resources of Iraq include petroleum, natural gas, phosphates and sulfur.

I am Christopher Avalos. I am an avid musician; I play trumpet, saxophone, trombone and guitar. I am in a punk rock band called Indian Taker. We have gone on multiple tours in the western United States and we hope to head out to the east coast next winter. I am very interested in science and I am heading towards that direction with my post secondary education. I would like to earn a degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC Davis or a Bioengineering Degree from UCSC. I am a very open minded individual. I believe in equal rights across the board.
